Do you belong to a spiritual community?
When was the last time you attended an event? Although some people are still taking precautionary measures due to COVID, many more are enjoying in-person services again. I’d like to encourage you to consider joining a spiritual community for its immeasurable benefits.
Do you recall my post from a few months ago called “Look To Your Spiritual Community For Personal Growth, Meaningful Relationships and Service Opportunities”? In that post, I highlighted a personal story about my spiritual journey and discussed the importance of merging your spiritual practices with everyday experiences, in order to age beautifully and live your best life.
Today, I’d like to share an update. Last year I began pursuing my spiritual practitioner’s license with Centers For Spiritual Living. CSL is an inclusive, global organization honoring people from all walks of life and all spiritual paths, and is focused on spiritual healing and the power of thought. Spiritual practitioner training is a three-year commitment. I am in the second year of the program, which is called Advanced Consciousness Studies.
It’s amazing how you can accomplish a number of goals by being a part of a spiritual community. For years, I’d been looking for an enjoyable and authentic way to build relationships and develop a stronger bond with Spirit, while engaging in community service. Committing to this training has become a rewarding journey on all accounts. Ultimately, I expect to seamlessly blend my newfound skills with my holistic wellness business. Currently, my colleagues and I are learning how to help people make positive changes in their lives by shifting their consciousness through affirmative prayer. This work requires a lot of self-reflection, introspection and being open to facing uncomfortable personal issues. I affiliated with a center in the Chicago area and am beginning to participate in a number of ways. One of my favorite Sunday contributions is selecting and presenting the reading for the weekly lesson.
If you’ve been searching for a wonderful solution to inactivity — one that will help you nurture a deeper connection with Spirit and the world, use your unique talents to lift others, grow in incredible ways, celebrate the miraculousness of your being, enjoy a sense of belonging, and improve the overall quality of your life — consider the advantages of becoming actively involved in a spiritual community that speaks to your heart.
